My 3 year old Olive Egger, Oliver, (hen) has been isolated trying to lay what must be a giant egg (I’m praying it’s not a lash egg!) and finally today when I thought she might be dying she is giving it her all and I am seeing her vent expand. However the egg looks to be sitting way down below her vent, bottom is down like 2 inches below, and I don’t know if there’s anything I can do, or if I have to let her make it or not make it on her own. I’ve tried manipulating it, lifting it a little. She is laying it in an Epsom salt bath, but hasn’t been able to eat for days because she can’t digest food well. I gave her some calcium but she refused to swallow after a bit, and some Nutri-Dench, and food caught in water all via syringe. She had Meloxicam yesterday but I think it is too early for another dose. She’s in warm water under a heat lamp. Can I move the egg? If so, how?

I posted on your other thread. She really needs the calcium to help pass the egg or whatever it is. You can pull down on her wattles and pop the calcium into her beak to swallow. There is a good video here where the vet give a pill twice starting around 1 minute 30 seconds. If you keep watching he demonstrates tube feeding.
