Eggbound or Internal Laying?

you can still feel an egg (from her abdomen slightly swelling) but she has perked up and is eating drinking and pooping. So I cannot tell what is going on. She’s happy but there is most definitely an egg, it’s been two weeks and I’m sort of starting to stress

Please tell me if anyone could know what going on with my hen, she has a lump/egg stuck in her but she’s acting normal but won’t let me pick her up or touch her stomach and down
But you are feeling the egg through tissue correct?
Likely she has laid an egg internally, there is not much you can do unless you seek vet care and have them take it out - very risky and most hens will not recover from expensive surgery.
Her not letting you touch her abdomen means it's painful for her.
You will need to determine how much pain she is in and the quality of her life. If she is in misery consider letting her go.

That’s where I just cannot decide because she acts completely normal otherwise. But I agree that her abdomen is in pain

It actually could be internal laying or another laying disorder. Can you gently palpate her abdomen to see if it feels swollen or bloated? Is her comb still plump and red?

I would say so ... other than the way she is holding herself, and her subdued behaviour, she looks really quite healthy. She's still got an appetite.

I tried feeling around her abdomen area and it doesn't strike me as bloated or swollen. So I'm still not sure what's wrong. I'll update if anything changes, but for now we'll just try to keep her comfortable.

I understand. Can you take her to a vet?
I have a huge announcement! My sweet hen Buffy has layed an egg. This is news in the coop and she and her hens had a huge celebration. The egg in her abdomen is still there but she is able to lay over ut

Well, Pretty Hen is laying an egg every other day or so now. I have been cooking them up for her as I'm still not sure what is wrong with her and don’t want to feed her eggs to humans. She’s still got an appetite and seems content-ish but definitely not quite right still.

This is exactly what my Polish hen is going through. I’m happy that Pretty hen is laying! My hen lays every other day now but is still of as well
