I got a real emergency. I found my Flame in the corner this morning and her butt is bloody. No egg to be found. She's lethargic. I felt her up and even stuck my gloved finger in where she is bleeding from, but I can feel no egg. I sprayed some disinfectent on her butt and separated her.. not sure what else to do for her. She's 7 years old... I hate to see her die. No vet anywhere close. :-(

Soak her in Epsom salt water. Is there a wound? Any maggots? I would also give her some liquid calcium, vitamins and electrolytes via dropper. Being very careful she doesn't inhale any of it.

looking at other pictures and threads, she has a prolapsed vent with her innerts coming out. I already separated her. I will take pictures, but it'll be a little bit

Definitely soak her in Epsom salt water. If you have any preparation h, depending on the severity of her condition, you can apply that to her vent to help treat her.

When I think about it, she was kinda just laying around yesterday, but she was still ok... walking back to her coop to eat. I thought she was just sitting around cause it was hot, but now I'm wondering. This is how I found her this morning. No outwards signs yesterday.

Have the other chickens been pecking her vent area, possibly attracted by a prolapse? I hate to suggest putting her down, but if her vent is damaged, it might be best to prevent suffering. The area would require repeated soaks in warm Epsom salts or soapy water, and if she is very weak, a bath could push her over the edge.

Try to gently clean her up. Yes, try soaking her in warm water, be very gentle, and soothing with your words. Once it is all clean, your hands as well, you may want to try to carefully put the exposed tissue back inside her vent. After that's done, you will probably want to hold a towel or something of the sort up against her bum, with a little bit of pressure, to make sure everything stays in. You may need to repeat this process a few times, before the insides will stay in. God bless and good luck!

(P.S. - if there are any experts out there who would not recommend doing any of these things, please make that clear, and explain why- thanks :) )

I can't put her down. I know she might be dying and I know she's in pain, but that's something I can't do. :-( I'm not sure if the others pecked at her. She was hiding behind the door. I don't see any blood anywhere except for right where she was lying. I'm getting my sink ready (I was cleaning fish, so all the fish stuff is in there) so I can do that. Poor baby girl.
