Half of our hens are laying as they are new this year as are we to all of this, and all has been going well.

We have seen a few new eggs the past week and just today one of the eggs came out with a bit of blood on the shell. Is this cause for concern?

Their just new layers. Most new layer will have blood on the shell, after time their vent will stretch.

I will be watching this one as well. My pullets eggs have had blood on them as well. Not every one. About every three days or so.

If it continues for more than a week, I would start checking their vents to be certain that they are not injured or have an infection that won't heal.
