How many consecutive days can a hen lay?

One of my RIRs started laying at 20-21wks, I have collected an egg 22 out 23 days from her. I have never seen my other RIR in the nest box and she does not have the cone and wattle color and size of my laying RIR.

2 Rhode Island Reds 24wks old
1 Brown Danish Leghorn 25-26 wks old
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte 25-26 wks old

Is this normal?

Is it possible?

She laid 3 eggs then took one day off and now 18 days in a row.

I have never collected two RIR eggs in the same day and I feel my 2nd RIR is just now getting close to laying 1-2 weeks away.

Thanks,

Tony

A good layer can give you an egg a day for quite a long time, certainly months and some can continue to produce them throughout the laying season, though these hens tend to quit laying earlier in their lives as opposed to a more leisurely layer who can keep laying for many years just less in the year.

Great information! My BR has laid an egg every single day for a month. The poor girl only took off one Sunday. I'm not giving them any artificial light. I'm amazed.

My EE is laying maybe five eggs a week.

I had a pullet that went 49, 34, 20 day stretches with one day off in between in her first months laying....
....she still lays 5-7 a week at 18 months old, I am using supplemental lighting.

49 days laying everyday! Incredible. My girl took a break the day I wrote the last post. I'm going to count how many days she lays in a row. To me it is really amazing.
