Egglaying question

For about a week or longer, (not a new layer) she has gone to lay an egg, does an egg song, but no egg comes out.

What does this mean?? Does she need more calcium?

She isn’t egg bound right? She might be laying elsewhere..

I really don’t think so, no penguin pose and seems overall normal other then the eggs.

Its possible, but she makes a huge fuss before laying an egg and always does an egg song afterwards, i think she would’ve done it then.

You can check her abdomen to make sure it’s not swollen or anything- compare to another hen’s.

One of my hens did this occasionally, there never seemed to be any reason for it.

Could she be deciding if she's going broody? I had one who was on the fence and acted just like she was trying to lay an egg for days and no egg
