I have a Mock Eggnog recipe from my hardcover recipe book called Taste of Home's - Contest Winning - Annual Recipes 2006. I haven't made it yet, I need to get the heavy cream first. [IMG] But I like the idea that it's safe for anyone to have, young kids, elderly......without the raw eggs in it. [IMG] Use those for all the other recipes. [IMG] [IMG]

    Mock Eggnog

    2 quarts cold milk
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant French Vanilla or Vanilla pudding mix
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/8 teaspoon salt (Optional)
    1 cup heavy whipping cream
Additional Nutmeg to sprinkle on top of each cup (Optional)

    1. In a mixing bowl, beat milk & pudding mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Beat in the sugar, nutmeg, vanilla (& salt if desired).

    2. In another mixing bowl, beat cream until thickened, about 3 minutes. Stir into pudding mixture. Refrigerate until serving. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg if desired.

    Yield: about 2 1/2 quarts.

I thought that whiskey is what put the nog in "eggnog".

Oooh!! I'm definitely gonna have to try this!! I have a pretty bad egg allergy, that seems to get worse every year, so this would be perfect!! I miss eggnog! [IMG]

Cool! I needed a good recipe for our post holiday brunch this year. This looks simple enough.
Has anyone made it? Is the taste spot on for real eggnog?
