well two definatly had nothing going on, I cracked them open and one looked like it was fertile but did nothing, the other I couldn't tell as the yolk broke. as for the other 4 one looks like it has something in it, my torch isn't strong enough to see properly but I can see a few veins in there and a dark mass that could be a chick. the other 3 are darker than the non starters but I can't see any veins or masses in them, I'm guessing they gave up at some point or the yolks burst. I've left the 4 under the hen to see what happens but I'm not expecting much. I was hoping for more than one, I don't think I can get back from one what I paied for the 6. I had to pay for the eggs to be posted from a place not far from here because I can't get there to get them myself. I've had to sell my car because I can't afford to run it so I'm pretty much stranded here.
looks like there is only one chick, which makes it a very expensive chick but we have a chick! I just hope it gets to hatching and survives. there was some obvious kicking or head movement in there. quite disappointed that there is only one but at least there is one.
One week to go!
just three days to go. I've not touched the eggs since candleing them and they are now in "lock down" till Monday. I really hope this chick hatches as I can't put an more eggs under her. I'm just hoping she will snap out soon.
