Mums been sitting on the eggs for the past 14 days. I've prepared a heat light. Do I need to do anything else or does mum do the rest?
Should I take dad out? Should I give extra protein?

Button quails
Ok cool 👍 I think you should leave the dad in unless he gets aggressive toward the hen or the chicks, is it a pair ? I don't think you will need to add extra heat or anything like that, update with pictures when they hatch, please !!!!!😁

Everything you suggested seems fine, I take back what I said, you can keep the heat lamp if you think they need it

Okay cool, I've only got the heat lamp because it's hitting 0'c at night. I will. I've been meaning to post my full setup anyway.

I got no experience with button quails, but as far as I read, they have a inverse gender dimorphism, e.g. resulting in the female is the active part in suiting the partner and the male cares most part of the chicks.
So I would not remove the male.

Once they hatch, keep a very close eye on how the parents raised them (I've had mixed success). I would recommend having a heat lamp as well. If they're good parents, they should do most of the work.
