i recently inherited two birds with the house, they were free ranging and now i have them in a coop and run the neighbor was feeding them 16%layer. The one i believe to be an oripngton cross give faithfully everyday. Her first 4 eggs were a solid light brown, however her egg from 2 days ago has blueish spots on the ends, and yesterdays was completely covered, the only thin that has changed is that they now have a steady supply of water, and im giving oyster shell and scratch, with some occasional yogurt. Theres no noticable change in the feel of the eggs, however i havent opened one up yet. the first two i ate were incredible. Is there any cause for me to worry or is this a good sign? could it just be caused by the change in going from completely free range to a standard diet?

I notice a slight change in the eggs when my chickens are on game bird feed and grass.

UPDATE!!! todays egg was the same light brown with no spots.... should i be concerned , and better yet should we not eat the eggs from those 2 days that have the spots???

Maybe your other chicken laid the eggs. Eggs are fine with spots and freckles, pretty too!
