So my quail are finally starting to lay but the temp has really dropped. It's been about 10 degrees Fahrenheit at night. They seem to be laying late. I gather the eggs right at dark but there were 2 more that were froze and cracked this morning. Are they any good if they have froze? I guess I could feed them to the dogs. Any ideas to keep the eggs from freezing? Maybe I'll just have to go out again before I go to bed...?

Yeah, mine are doing the same. I don't see how they would be bad if your cooking with them. My girls laid 3 over the past 5 days and they have stopped now after a few days of it freezing, think they got the hint to stop.

I live in southwestern Colorado so we get some cold weather. The worst Is, is we always seem to get a week of really nasty weather with wind and temps down to -17 Fahrenheit, probably colder with the wind chill. Hopefully the quail fair ok through that if it happens.
