Sadly, so far, none of Phoenix's eggs have even rocked or pipped and its weird because there WERE chicks in them when I candled.
If possible in the future, I would like to try with a few of her eggs again.
Sonew123, the 10th one pipping/zipping is an olive egg. Darn but thats one determined little chick!! I didnt get any of the others pipping yet though a couple blue ones were rocking. As with Phoenix's eggs from Paganbird, I might have to buy some more blue and olive eggs from you.
Its a gamble but I know I have done my best.
Oh,oh!!! Slap my hands!!! Next month(besides the presales and dozen Old English Bantam eggs) I am getting some Lakenvelders and Barnvelders (sp.)) Hopefully a combination package of chinese geese/turkeys/pekin ducks. Lakenvelders are one of my favorites to look at but I have never hatched any.

10th egg is OUT. Sonew123, she is a little black one, you said as they get older they turn bluish? In any case, she is a cute baby!

I'm catching up, Mags!
I have 6 out and 2 more pipped.
So far, I have 2 barred rock, 1 silkie/sizzle, 1 speckled sussex/rock, 1 BO/rock, and 1 chick that will look just like my white roo with the cuckoo pattern. It's a white rock, but has the same look as Spot did when he hatched.
I hope it's a pullet. It's such a pretty pattern, I'd like to try for more.
Did I send you and shiny light tan eggs? They'e only med-large sized... not as big as the others and they have a nice sheen to them. They are the speckled sussex eggs.
When the hatch is over, I'll post pics. I am leaving them in the bator to keep temp & humidity up.
Well, I've been up since 5am & I'm a little tired. I think I'm gonna take a nap until DH gets home at midnight.

C'mon, chickies... hatch already!

Paganbird, I think those tan eggs you sent are the ones you are talking about? The babies come out kind of black and white?
Then on the dark brown eggs, there have been some blackish babies and one yellow one. One of the white eggs, a yellow one etc.
So far the last one out, a 10th is a olive egg and a dark brown one pipping. That might be it for me this hatch, but 11 is perfectly acceptable to me.

I am so proud of my little group.
PS I thought the other silkie/sizzle was pipping but I cant see it now? Maybe the others rolled it over.

I dont want to put the babies in the brooder just yet until I see what this 11th one does, then I am going to take them out as quickly as possible.
Oh, the yellow one that came out of the dark brown egg has a black spot above her eye. I am wondering if that one isnt a roo because it likes to torment all the other chicks, lol.

Oof. Heading to bed in a couple but wanted to update that the 11th chick is out. Goodnight all!

Sonew123, at this point, just the one little olive egger but thats okay, I am very happy with the baby!

I treated the eggs all the same and was consistent with turning and temps. I tend to think its partly the post office being rough on them and also it could have been the cold. But she is gorgeous!! thank you!!

I have all of the chicks in the small brooder right now and will move them to a larger one this weekend. Total of the hatch (IF no more hatch out) is 11.
Paganbird, I think I see what you mean by speckled sussex now. A couple when they dried off are more the brown and white?
The barred rocks are the black and whites. I got some really different colors, I will take pics of everyone sometime today when the last two are fluffed out.
Upcoming hatches: ducks, mixed and crested Indian Runners next weekend. Silkies,silkie/sizzles and salmon faverolle crosses around the 25th. Mixed eggs, around the 27th I believe. and guinea eggs, around March 4.
So suppose if people dont mind, I will continue to update in this thread?
