Eggs are not big?

Hi there. I am curious about egg size from red commercial layers. These chickens I have are 4.5 months old and only laying a little bit at this point. (1-3 eggs per day total from 5 chickens) All but two of the eggs are probably only half the volume of what I would get from the store. These are brown eggs. Two I have got are almost store size, but they were double yolkers. As these chickens mature will their eggs get bigger or is what I am getting now probably going to be typical? Thanks!

You are right as the hens mature their sggs will get bigger

The small eggs are called pullet eggs, they are normal with new layers and will get bigger with time.

They will get bigger after a couple of months. Hang in there!!
