EGGS-CELLENT

Lol i am so happy, we now have four out of five (mature) laying hens woot the other shouldnt be far behind.

I have 2 out of 4 laying, I can hardly wait to see what the "new" eggs will look like! I watch them all the time from my kitchen window, I think my husband thinks I have lost my mind!

Lol you and me both my husband makes fun of me. But hey my chickens like me lol my husband was surprised today when we went and sat outside together and one of our leghorns ran over and just wanted to be near me lol. I think its the one if i have my windows open that tries to fly inside because she wants to be with me. Most of the time all the chickens follow me around, they all run from him through. He likes picking them up more then i do, i like throwing them bugs from my garden i think they think i carry bugs everywere lol. They follow my two year old around as well she normally is in the water and they love playing in the water with her. I never thought my entire family would call me the chicken lady lol my mom does she see a book about garden or chickens she normal gets it for me she says i am obsessed.

you are so right! i have been called obsessed more than once at my house! i never run out of things to say about them to everyone! i love their individual personalities! mine are kind of afraid of people so i've never gotten to pet them but the 2 that are layers, which are mixes, are getting better and 1 will get really close to me but won't let me touch her yet...that one is henrietta by the way. my other layer is scarlett and is queen of the coop. my last 2 i think are brown leghorns, ruby and rosie, and they are skittish by nature i have heard.

Lol thats funny one of our leghorns is named henrietta as well she got attacked by a dog when she was younger (not our dogs thankfully) he tore her tail up and to this day it stays at an odd angle. They really do have different personalitys i was amazed by how God gave them such things lol. I never thought they would but i think the same of cows probably because until recently i didnt kike birds much(red cardinals attacked me as a kid). Yeah the leghorns are intereating i think its mostly because one we save from a cat the other from a dog so they got more handled that might have made a difference or the fact that i am constantly out there(stay at home mom). I work in my garden or watch my little girl play. So they probably overly use to me. We have two delewares both have names lol adel and della. Then we have one austrolorp (honey), four golden sex links one named raptor she likes bitting my fingers and pants for no reason, the we have 4 bar rocks, 3 rhode island reds, two americanas, two buffs, two wyandotte. One rooster who going to the freezer he has attacked my baby girl for no reason so he going, he also attack myself and my husband he just dangerous. We have to many chickens i only name the ones i know who it is lol otherwise i trying to figure out who named what.
