Help, my eggs are due to hatch tomorrow and this is our first hatch. I see one in there that has a brown foam on the outside of it, is this a bad egg? Should I remove it? Is it normal? Does this ever happen to normal eggs? I am worried it will explode and harm our other eggs. I see another one that has a little foam on it also.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am not sure... im sure someone on here will know though.
Im due to hatch tomorow too! are any of your eggs rocking or anything?

We have done everything we could to increase our humidity. It went up a little, but not above 70%. I guess it could be condensation, I was concerned because it is brown.

To increase our humidity we put 2 bowls of water with a sponge in them (so no open water for chicks to drown) and then put a folded paper towel on the sponges. I also filled the troughs below the wire mesh. We just decided there wasn't anything else, because we were out of room in the incubator.

My husband says nothing yet... I am at work. Americana-chick are your eggs rocking yet?

I am so excited I hope at least a few hatch...our first batch was a complete failure. It got too hot in the incubator.

Personally, I don't like paper towels in an incubator. To wick humidity from your sponges, cut them and put them on edge.

Just my humble opinion, sure paper towels work great for some folks.

Excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paper towels were recommended for over our sponges... I guess we were just trying to do anything to help our babies...

Of course, as soon as we see them you will see them.... still can't wait...

Nope no rocking yet.. but i know there are chicks in the eggs...
I kinda kept the temps a bit lower this time because my old incubator ranges a lot and i didnt want to boil them so they might be a few days late... But i just got a new LG incubator with an LG egg turner and i have plugged it in to see how it does.. great!

So if these chicks dont end up hatching new eggs will go into the LG..
