Eggs Eggs and more Eggs......

i have 8 hens...all about a year and some 10-11 months. mixed flock with 4 bantam Mille Fleur d'uccle hens, and 2 polish hens and 3 ameraucana/easter egger mix. Well recently, they started laying a lot more. This winter I would get like 2 eggs a day from them or so. ..well in the past 4 days, I've gotten 28 eggs from 8 hens !!!!!!! What's going on? is this normal ? lol I'm not complaining just wondering if anyone else is experience this.... thanks

The increased day light period has spurred the increase in production. This is their normal reaction to longer days.

Sounds like my 8 ladies. Was lucky to get 2 eggs a day. Now getting 6-7 a day.

Only time will tell what your birds 'normal' rate of lay will be.
First year is usually more productive than subsequent years.
Hot summer temps can affect laying, some birds more than others.
