I was wondering I'm getting 5 white rocks, 5 barred rocks, now my daughter wants a silke are there eggs just as good to eat as the ones from the rocks. Also will these chickens tolarate each other.

All chicken eggs are equally good (unless the birds eat different types of food) and they should do fine together.

The only difference is in size and color of the shell. One will eat as well as the other.

Whether they get along is an individual personality thing with pullets. Breed may effect how males get along, for example, OEG roosters are notorious for not tolerating other roosters. I would not hesitate to mix pullets of the breeds you mentioned. Or roosters of those breeds, for that matter.

I think silkies and bantams have a higher yolk to white ratio and I much prefer yolk but i guess it depends on the hen!
They are smaller so they are brilliant for using to glaze cakes and things without using a large egg and having left overs or to make cute mini poached eggs in heart shaped cookie cutters!

With our girls 2 silkie eggs is equal in amount to one maran egg.

When my grandmother had chickens she was given a silkie hen and the grandkids would fight over who got to eat the slikie eggs because we deemed them as small eggs for small people! And my grandmother kept the silkies in the same yard as all her other breeds too.
