Single comb leghorn

Ok. So my "Thought it was a leg horn but has tons of leaky color) has a single comb. No one has disputed he is leghorn...in part. This is him. He is the jerk. Lil Bit...the awful

That looks like the product of a sex link ..... But a male sex link

I'm thinking if they are going to mate, they should know each other. They should consider marriage and a wholesome relationship. Plan ahead for life experiences and be sure that its really love!
Just kidding, a year old is recommended.

Ok...newbie here...what is an SC Leghorn as opposed to just a leghorn?

SC is Single Comb and RC is Rose Comb. There are several varieties/colors of Leghorns. They all lay white eggs.

Well sex link females of the golden variety hatch out males that grow up to look like that rooster... It depends what parent stock was used in the hybrid.

Idk if I'm explaining this right guys help me out lol

I realize this thread has gotten off track from the OP's original post.
This is my male Leghorn. He was reserve champion at a show. Not the best picture.

This was another young male I had some years ago. One day when I went out to his coop, I found him dead under the roost with his feet sticking straight up in the air.

You know chickens are prone to spontaneously combust.. no seriously they do have heart attacks out of no where ..it's happened ...sorry... They are beautiful though..

Would you believe that until a couple weeks ago he was beautiful pure white? Now gold/fawn keeps overtaking. There are red feathers, black feathers and barred feathers. Literally 4 or 5 markings of each lol. One on the inside of a tail feather is black. I constantly think he has poo on him lol
