Just wanted to brag about my girls. We have 5. 4 currently laying and I am beyond proud of them! This is what I currently have in my fridge. All from them. Every last egg is just as exciting as the first. I'll never get over this. My kids especially get excited too which makes it even better!!

Thanks!! Now that I'm chicken crazy next is to get some Easter and olive eggers to up the variety. I was just so excited to get eggs, I grabbed whatever chickens I saw. Never thought about egg color until recently!
I’m also a crazy chicken lady!

That’s great ... but I have a question??

What’s in your nesting boxes ? Because there’s a lot o poop on them there eggs :).....

I tried straw, shavings and expensive fake grass nesting pad ... sand is my answer , easy to scoop out poop , eggs are mostly clean ( nothing is perfect ),

I don’t wash many eggs at all , and I wish that for you too ❤️

I was doing shavings, which I have a ton left over from when they were in the house as chicks but they kick it out of the nest. They've been laying in empty boxes and outside of the nest in grass/dirt. I thought about maybe pine needles since my area has so many of them, but I've also thought about straw. Never heard of sand in the boxes. They really don't mind it??
