Hello! My mom and I are incubating eggs on a staggered hatch, the first two eggs go into lockdown on Friday and then another two go into lockdown when the first two are due to hatch. Yes I know..not a great plan:hmm but we couldn’t wait to pop them in the bator...
Since we don’t have another incubator or a place to put the first set of eggs, could we put the second set of eggs into lockdown two days early along with the first set? Would that effect the embryos at that stage in their growth? Thanks a ton in advance

It will be fine. There isn't a big enough time difference to matter.

Wondering how your hatch went ?? I'm thinking il leave to start some of my eggs before my others arrive by a day or two.

My hatch went great! Five out of six hatched perfectly fine with no issues, the sixth one quit the day she was supposed to hatch and wasn’t part of the group of eggs in question. It’s was kind of stressful however removing chicks while eggs were hatching and it had to be timed properly. Good luck on your hatch!! :D

Thanks for the update !! Glad it went well. We just did a hatch and had 24 go into lockdown & 20 hatched. One quit when I checked with the float test and 3 are still going another day or 2. Planning on starting my next hatch on Monday since my other eggs should arrive by Wednesday and I received the first ones on Friday.

That sounds great! Sorry you had one quit on you, it’s always so disappointing when they get that close and don’t make it. No clue why it happens so much at that point in the incubation. Hope your next hatch goes as good at the first!
