Does wry neck happen at birth/hatch? I thought that wry neck happened later, as a vitamin deficiency.

I dont know what you have over there, but here it is a baby vitamin called polyvisol without iron.....
 
I did find this one thread about wry neck, and yes, it does recommend vitamins like PolyViSol, as well as vitamin B and E. Maybe you would want to read through it .... It has a good ending!

One of my chicks had it all i gave it was vit E and a good neck rub!!!! He/She is fine and helthy! TRY IT!!

OK I read the first thread and have a list of the vitamins that we will have to get today, soon. I really hope he makes it, I have a feeling he will though.
also when we were checking him we found another chick that had hatched. it is the wyandotte bantam. so now all the bantams have hatched

here is the first picture. the one in front is the wyandotte bantam ( the first to hatch ) one of the white silkies in the middle and the black silkie at the back.

1 of them in the SLW egg. also there looks like there is a really long crack in another SLW egg. like it tried to pip but made a huge crack instead
