Eggs Hatching Early! New Duckling! Pics

How's he doin'? Is he out yet?

He is out. There are pictures of him on post #48 and #49 page 5. I peeled some of his shell and he popped out about 6:00 tonight. I had to move him to the brooder because the incubator was to small. He was trying to stand up and couldn't. He was hunched over and his back was hitting the top. I hope he does ok being taken out early.

Well, when I got to school this morning stuck duck's sibling was already out. He had zipped at 7:00pm when I left last night.

How long does it take for their feathers to fluff out? They are matted looking but dry. The one from last night is picking out his feathers. Is that how they fluff them?

I have to stop looking at duckling posts. They are SO CUTE!

OMG they're adorable. I need to seriously not look at duck hatching threads til I have a pond...

They are sooo cute. The duckling that was stuck is a lot bigger than the faster hatching duckling.

So, two of the three eggs have hatched but the third egg that has looked the best from the start hasn't done anything. How long should you leave them in the incubator? Today is the hatch date but there is no sign of pipping. I tryed to candle it but I didn't see anything. There has been a bad smell that started after the first one started to hatch. Someone told me ducks hatching do smell but I was wondering if the other egg is bad.
