Eggs in bator today - Feb 6th hatch day!!

I had one that couldn't get out of his shell, it was stuck to him like glue, he's finally okay now (I removed, and help it free up) and in the brooder with the others. But he still has lots of goop stuck to him with bits of shell. I tried a warm cloth and at least got her/his eye open. Can I give it a bath in a few days? It's really gross and not fluffy like the others.

You can give him a gentle bath now. just use warm enough (not hot) water and dry her off, then put her back in the incubator to dry off.
do not dry him with a hot hair dryer as others have killed chicks with too much heat.
I used warm wash clothes and qtips
I CAREFULLY snipped off tips of baby down feathers there the chick was stuck to itself (her head was held down to her chest)
I got her so she could move well, even if she had a few bits of shellac left
they will all be gone when her feathers grown in.
by 4 weeks my chick was 'lost in the crowd' meaning I could not tell which had been my rescue chick by her feathers.

good luck

I cleaned her up a little with a warm wash cloth, my new issue, is she has a toe curled under. It's her outside toe, so I kindof rolls her foot under. I tried making her a little boot with a bandaid. I hope it helps. Not sure if I got it completely flat or not.

I've had to help one of mine slightly, it pipped upside down & got stuck zipping. Looks like it had been like it a while, the membrane was quite dried out (I'd been at the supermarket) It got out just fine with a minor adjustment from me.. it's now running around playing football with the other eggs, LOL

I have 4 chicks now & 3 more pips. Just two haven't pipped yet, but still plenty of time!!
