Eggs in cold weather

I can’t gather eggs until after work in the evenings. Temps are well below freezing here. Eggs still ok to gather and use later for cooking?

If the eggs have frozen and cracked, no. Boil them up and feed them back to the chickens.

Even if the eggs are frozen but they are not cracked they are safe to use.

Safe, but do they work like eggs, or do they change their consistency, texture, etc.?
