Well it's under the wing so no other birds can see if. It was the chick herself messing with it.See if you can get a product called blue coat or no peck.

If I see it get worse yes. I went to check on the chicks and she was to be distracted with food or sleeping under the brooder plate. I'm afraid if I mess with her too much it might open it up. Seems it may be under control at the moment. Can you get a photo?
Yeah. I've never had a chick with an injury so this one is a first. I see they are already trying to fly all around so pretty soon I will need to move them to larger housing. I'm betting that one was trying to do some crazy acrobatics and got caught somehow. Then don't fuss with it.
Peeps do not feel pain as we do.
You are doing great with them!
That's exactly what I have. They are already trying to fly out lol they are getting on the perch and trying to fly up. Especially my little boy...he hears me and he jumps up on that perch to come to me. So cute!!I just use plastic boxes we buy at walmart or home depot.
Yes I've just moved mine to a new set up this evening... pictures tmw. 2 big boxes joined together. They were so frightened at first and I had to guide them ack to the heat lamp. Seem to be ok nowYeah. I've never had a chick with an injury so this one is a first. I see they are already trying to fly all around so pretty soon I will need to move them to larger housing. Oh that's excellent. I had to raise the brooder plate up today since they got taller. I have a 4 ft dog crate that I used for my last few chicks. Once they get a bit big for the brooder. I put up a shelf in it so it became like a 2nd floor in there. It was pretty cool. I'm going to set it up probably next week.Yes I've just moved mine to a new set up this evening... pictures tmw. 2 big boxes joined together. Hope that cut on the wing recovers
I have one chick that's very shy, stays under the heat plate a lot and is really jittery and nervous... keeping an eye and hoping it's ok and just a personality thing and not ailing. I do see it eat and drink so I'm not too worried about that. It's the smallest even though it's one of the first 3 to hatch.
