The other two had an air sac that went to the top like it’s supposed two after we turned them the right way. The third one after we turned it still has the air sac at the bottom, now near the pointy end on the side. Is it displaced? Will it go back to normal? The embryo is near the air sac at the bottom near the pointy end too

Wait--your air sac went to the top? That's a problem. Air sacs are not supposed to move. So is the air sack that's near the pointy end. And I've never had that problem. (comes from gathering your own eggs.) Please tell me I misunderstood the post?

Ok I will try to explain this better.

Prior to turning them the correct way, they had the air sac at the bottom, towards the blunt end. We turned two of them so the pointy end faces down, and the air sac stayed with the blunt end (which is now at the top like it’s supposed to be)

One egg we turned, and the sac stayed at the same place in the egg, so the air sac is at the bottom with the pointy end, even though the blunt end is up like it’s supposed to be. It’s like the air sac didn’t travel with the egg shell if that’s makes sense?

That's weird. Well- good on the air sacs staying at the blunt end. That's exactly what it's supposed to be doing. It is not supposed to move.

Okay, I leave the egg hatching to my hens, but I'll explain the reason for air cells being at the blunt end as best I can.

Egg pointy end down--chick is supposed to orient (hopefully herself) before she hatches. If she orients herself with her head in the pointy end, she's going to have a lot of trouble moving her head for the hatch. And may very well die.

The air cell is supposed to be where the head is--because the chick needs room to move her head.

The air cell should not sink. If it is detatched, it should rise to the top.

Ok that makes a lot of sense, thanks for explaining it! We must’ve looked at the one wrong, they all look good! Blunt end up, air sacs up. We turned them all and they are still moving and everything. Thanks everyone for your advice! I’m glad we caught this soon enough.

So I purchased one of those Chinese Incubators and going through the same issue ARYA 28. Everything I read said point end down except the instruction manual that came in the package. I have just sent a inquiry to the company (yescomusa.com one of the several i guess that sell these yellow ones) because it could be a issue and at the very least confusing. If you happen to purchase one of these save the foam for the bottom of the incubator cause they seem to have problems reaching required heat, also a small aquarium tube in the vent hole from outside to the bottom trays in the bator as I don't have a clue how you could easily add water to the channels otherwise. I use a remote digital thermo as well and the readings are not that stable even with the fan. My homemade incubator seems to be much more reliable though its the hatch that counts and have not been there yet.
