Hi! In an earlier discussion about wrapping and packing eggs for shipping,
David (KartKing22) mentioned packing eggs in shavings for shipping. When I said I couldn't picture it, he offered to trade eggs so I could see it first hand.
Here they are:

36 perfect pheasant eggs --- no cracks or dings at all.
Thanks David! I'll let you know how they candle once they've incubated a week or so.

Hi Bruce! I was pleasantly surprised

I've gotten eggs here all-kind-of-ways that were in egg cartons and this was the first time the eggs were ALL INTACT.
Of course, it was also the first time I've ever received eggs packed in shavings in cartons like that.
I'm tickled and I think it will be a great alternative packing technique if I ever find myself out of bubble-wrap.
Thanks again David!

Thanks for the pics Lisa. I always wondered what the package looks like when it has been recieved. I did notice that one of the corners was a little bashed in during shipment. That's why I always pack newspapers between the cartons and the sides of the box. This gives more cushion if the PO handles the package in a less than gentle manner.

Who would ever think that any PO employee would purposely handle a package marked " FRAGILE HATCHING EGGS" in a rough manner? Could be a chicken hater if they would.

Congrats on you being a grandpa again Junkman. Where's my cigar? LOL
I'm having a drink for you whether you like it ... or kills me first. Someone needs to get good blood back into the workforce. I was hoping that it was me but I can blame you now if this doesn't work. LOL Congrats again you old poop.

Hi David! That should have read I was *pheasantly* surprised, not pleasantly surprised

Yes, looked like the box took a good hit on that corner somewhere during shipping, but the eggs were all intact.

Congratulations Bruce! Boy-chick or girl-chick?

Lisa,
Apparently, no one cares to find a good way to ship eggs. LOL You and I have wasted both of our efforts to try to help but fell on deaf ears.

Thanks again for posting the pics of my shipping method. Hope that you run out of that bubble wrap soon.
Dave.

I've gotten eggs packed this way once. Not from a BYCer, but from someone on ebay. All of the eggs arrived intact. It seems like a great way to package eggs to ship. Good luck with your hatch!
