Eggs in the run?

So i thought it was a fluke yesterday when i found an egg in the run. it was a fart egg so i figured that because it was different she didnt lay in the nest. Well today i got home and there was another egg in the run. they are just starting to lay is she just confused about where to lay?

I had the same problem with a cochin when she started to lay. It took her about 6 weeks to finally use the nest box. She would, on a rare ocassion, lay an egg in the box. Then one day she began using the nesting boxes like my other hens and has not laid another one on the ground in the run. I did not do anything she learned on her on. Hope this helps.

Well, mine have been laying for almost a year and I have found an egg a day in the run! The run cannot be entered by humans so it's so frustrating! Today two of them laid in the corner of their coop!
