Every so often my Pekin lays her egg in the little kiddie pool in her pen, rather than her regular spot in the duck house. I usually change the water before sundown, but it's pretty yucky by morning when I find her eggs. Since those eggs sit in cold mucky water for hours, do you think it might not be safe to eat?

your ducks too?!

i think ive eaten eggs like that when i know they are fresh and the water is decently clean, if i crack one into a dish and its white is a bit clowdy i wont eat it, but ill cook it up for my dogs, if you want to be safe i would say dont eat them and if you do make sure they are COOKED!
