Eggs laid today..

Beautiful birds! Yes you've definitely got a blue egg and a green egg there. I would say light olive green. I've read from a lot of ppl on here when you switch food to do it gradually, so maybe buy the new feed now and start mixing it with the current feed, slowly increasing the amount of new feed until the old feed is gone.

Good idea. I had switched to pellets and they seemed to like it, but the feed store I use only has the high protein feed in crumble so now we have to switch back.

Love that speckly egg!
I'm kind of hoping all of her eggs look like that so I can tell them apart. Plus it makes my egg cartons more exciting. When I broke it open the inside of the egg wasn't white like I expected. It was a light brown color. At first I thought it might be one of the eggers, but some people said their australorp laid speckled eggs.

That is interesting...I thought all brown eggs were white on the inside of the shell...hmm

That's what I thought too, bc the brown is applied right before the egg is laid.. so then I thought maybe it was from one of the eggers, but they're supposed to be blue or green eggers. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the same feed store sold me a 'definitely a female' buff orp that ended up being a boy. There's only been one like that so far. The inside of the blue eggs is blue. I haven't cracked open the green egg yet, but I expect the inside to match the outside.
