Eggs left in the cold

That's a stinking cute trio.

I'm glad everything worked out ok. Lat year in July I had a similar issue. I had two hens in the same area, and the divider wasn't very good, so it kept falling over. I had one hen with 5 one-month-old chicks, and the other hen was just setting. The second hen had 6 eggs-2 were infertile, one was a quitter, which left 3 eggs. When the divider would fall over, the first hen would chase her off the nest and dig in the nest. So out of the three, one got a big hole pecked in it at about day 12. So I Put the divider up again. Then on day 19, when I went and checked on them, the second hen was on the other side, with the divider still up, and the two eggs were pretty cold, but it was July. So, I put the other hen over to her side, and put up chicken wire(finally). Both eggs hatched, and she was a great mom.

P.S- your chicks are super cute. What breed are they? Sorry if you already said what they are...I can't remember right now.

Thanks! That's a lot for eggs to survive through, but I'm glad they did! Seems chicken eggs can be pretty resilient.

Our rooster is a lavender orpington. Two of the eggs came from buff orpington hens, and the other is from the broody mama, who I think is an Easter Egger mix (not real sure.) She is red, though. Can't wait to see what they look like as they grow.
