Eggs make me sick.

UGH, UGH, UGH! I love eggs, have them freshly laid for me everyday by my beautiful hens. But every time I eat them, I get sick to my stomach. It feels like someone dropped a battery down my throat and it exploded! My stomach is on fire right now. How ridiculous is that? I've known this for sometime but I keep hoping one day it will go away. The eggs sit there and are so tempting!

When they are well cooked and in baked goods, I'm fine. It only happens when I eat them over easy or scrambled.

Anyone else out there experience this?

I have 14 hens and they are laying really well right now and it's so frustrating to not be able to eat their eggs in the morning every now and again.

The dog's walk will have to wait until later until I hopefully start to feel better.

You most likely have an allergy or intolerance to chicken eggs. That is why I have high egg production ducks. I can't eat chicken eggs unless I want a stomach ache. You should have seen what happened the one time I got a flu shot! YIKES!

Anyway, the proteins in the whites of the eggs are different for every type of bird. That is how you can be allergic to chicken eggs but not duck eggs. Give duck eggs or quail eggs a try.

That's interesting, my neighbor has ducks. I'll ask her if I can one and see what happens. Although not for at least a week. I don't want to chance feeling this way again for awhile. Thanks for the advice.

When I was a kid I loved fried eggs. We used to call the over easy eggs "dip eggs" since we would dip our toast in the yolk and eat it. But since my teenage years I cannot eat a fried or poached egg. It makes me nauseous to even smell them cooking. I can cook and eat (and LOVE!) scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, and pickled eggs, but fried or poached eggs make me sick as a dog. Isn't that weird?
