eggs not in boxes

My chickens have just started laying and I think only 2 of the 4 are so far. We are finding the eggs in the middle of their run area, and today I found one in the coop by their waterer. We have an cheap litter box that was bought new for the next box and its got wood chips in it.

Any reason they're not laying in that box but everywhere else? Is this something I should be concerned about?

They also have three levels of roosts to use and I've never seen them on any of them they sleep on the floor huddled in the corner. My chickens are weird.

That's pretty common. Sometimes they take a little while to figure out where they're supposed to be when the urge to lay an egg strikes. If you have some wooden eggs or golf balls, it can't hurt to toss one in each nest to suggest to them the proper placement of their own eggs.

Good luck!
