We just opened the eggs and scrambled them.

I made a hole onthe wide bottoms of the eggs and let the insides fall out. I rinsed the eggs shells and now have them drying. I'd like to keep them as a momento of our first eggs. Any tips ?

Maybe use a shellac spray to keep them from falling apart as they get older. I'm happy for you and your first eggs! I can't think of any greater joy than finding the first deposit in the nest box! Happy Chickening!

Well right on the money we get back from picking up the kids and there's 1 egg! So if we're right, the next egg should be within an hour or so from now. I got my fingers crossed.

they are several articles on egg laying and gos into detail the process of egg laying,it makes for interesting and educational reading, then you will want to read more, and more.eventually you will start getting a dreamy look on your face, and start asking more questions, then two chickens won,t be enough, you will need more, then more, when you hear chicks peeping you will break out in a sweat, when you go to TSC you will rush to the baby chick bin,you will look them over and something will begin to happen to you,,wait and see wait and see,,,right members???

International differences are strange. In EU grade A eggs for sale to the general public are not to be washed & are not refrigerated but kept on the supermarket shelves. Grade B eggs may be washed but are only for sale to the catering trade.
