Eggs ok to eat?

im not sure about eating the eggs but i would say that since the chicks eat it and they lay eggs eventully it wouldnt hurt but wait until someone els advises you i would not let the hen eat it though it might not be to good for her...

My silkies eat the medicated and always have as its what the chicks eat and they are all togather and no ill efects on the hens. They don`t lay while the chicks are young so by the time they start laying again they are on a none medicated feed.My orp hen is in the run with her babies and all the rest of the flock so its hard to keep the others away from the medicated feed, yesterday evertime I seen them there eating the chick feed I squrited them with a squrt bottle filled with water, but I would have to stand there all day I guess to keep them away.Thats all I could get for chick starter was medicated but did buy a bag of flock raiser to mix with it so the hens would not be getting much of the medicated. The bag is half gone and then they will be on only flock raiser.

Yeah, I wondered about that and actually had to deal with that today because I wasn't sure. I feed my whole flock grower, since I have some younger girls, and then provide free choice crushed oyster shell for the needed extra calcium. I purchased some grower from my local farm store, and realized when I was loading groceries from wal mart into the back afterward that it was medicated. So I took it back and had them exchange it. I thought I had read somewhere that it's not good to eat eggs from layers eating medicated...

For the life of me though, I can't remember where I read it and I can't find it now...

I don't think eating the eggs will kill you, not right away at least.

One of the reasons most of us like our own fresh eggs, is that they are full of antibiodics and hormones like the store bought eggs, besides the fact that they taste better.

When you eat eggs from a hen you is on medicated feed, you eat that medication, which can cause you do build up a tolerance against that medication, and if one day something happens and you need that medication, or a form of that medication, it may not work for you.

I don't know how old your chicks are, but if they are more than 6 weeks old, I would switch to non medicated chick feed.
