Hello all!

I recently got back into chickens after a long absence, and let me tell you I am totally hooked all over again!!!

I am making my first attempt at incubating eggs, and I have some on their way to me by mail. I've read that a lot of folks let their eggs sit for a day or so to settle after receiving them in the mail.

My questions are:

1. Do you let your mail-order eggs settle or not?

2. If you do, what do you think happens in the eggs duing settling that gives you a better hatch rate as opposed to if you didn't leave them settle?

Thanks for your time and Happy 4th of July!

I always like to let my eggs settle I think it helps after shipping for them to aclimate to current room temps. I don't fly to many in though.
