We rescued a few Muscovy ducks about 4 weeks ago. I’ve no idea how old they are but it’s spring and I’ve got no eggs yet. If they’re of laying age (not too old), would I have had some eggs by now? It’s spring and quite hot where I live and they are definitely adult females.
I doesn’t bother me if they’re not great layers but I’m new to ducks and not sure what to expect?

I’m not having much luck with google, it says 50-100 eggs a year but for how long does this happen? And when?

Thanks

They may be stressed from the move and their body responds by stopping reproductive activities. Once they are well established and feeling secure, that part of their anatomy will resume function.

How are they being housed and what are you feeding them? This can also affect their egg production.

They are in a coop/ run in the nights and just free range in the days. I’m mostly feeding them duck pellets and a small amount of treats- lettuce, peas, sardines, egg, mealworms?

That sounds perfect. Just give them a bit more time. If they are really young they may not start laying until a bit later.
