eggs per day and stuff

I was under the impression that a hen lays one e.g. every 26 hours or so. so that means that they would lay an egg an hour or two later each day. but my hens are all five laying eggs before 11 AM each morning. the last egg is always laid just before 11:00 So is it the daylight that dictates the egg laying process. i am curious how this all works.

Welcome! They will skip days sometimes, and they seem to be able to schedule their time in the nest box to some degree.
