Ive been doing the dry incubation method and then had humidity 70-75% for the last three days of lockdown. One egg piped yesterday early afternoon. It hasnt progressed at all. I filled the bathroom up with steam so it was 80% humidity and took the incubator in there and took the egg out to see if it was shrink wrapped, and only the tip of its beak was sticking out. I gently taped its beak with tweezers and it didnt move. I did peal back the shell and membrane a little just in case. The other two are piped, so I gently tapped the ones beak too and it didnt move. The other one has piped but there is no beak. when I removed the broken parts of the shell, it was its thigh, with no beak anywhere! How can it pip if its beak isnt even there? WTH is happening?

edited for a misspelling.

It sounds like your humidity may have been too high during days 1-18. Once they pipped they may have drowned. I try to keep humidity around 40-50 and then 65 during lockdown. Once they start to hatch the humidity will go up a few points because the chicks are drying out. I hope everything works out for you...

Sorry I misread. Thought it said 70-75 during incubation. Are you doing still air or circulated? If still air make sure all the vents are open.

The incubator has a fan, the hatcher is still air. I have another batch due next thursday, so I need to figure out what went wrong before then.

Ok, it could have been improper ventilation. I had a blanket over the incubator to try to get the temp. up yesterday. But would they still have piped if that was it? Because the blanket wasnt on anymore when they piped. And I know it isnt too dry in there because they are still wet in the shell where I pulled a little off to see if they would move and the hygrometer says 70. They all piped out the side, are they supposed to pip into the aircell? Because they didnt.......

sounds like to high humidity at the end! try keeping at 60-70%
