Im kinda a "newbie". I have black copper eggs and turkey eggs due about a week apart. The turkey eggs are supposed to take longer to hatch. I noticed yesterday they are bouncing and rocking around. I can't hear any chirps yet. Question is how long do they do this before they start pipping? We are day 20 for both. I've heard black coppers are hard to hatch. Their shells seem real thick. Humidity is about 50-53 and temp 99-100. THanks

Your humidity should be more like 65%-70% and the chicken egg's could start hatching at anytime personaly I never heard the cheaping until they had pipped but maybe its because I always had other chick's in the house. I'm not sure about the turkey egg's either.

my turkey egg that just hatched was rocking on day 25 and when I was candling them I could feel them wiggle same thing with my black coppers I felt a couple of those move day 20 and no bc's yet I can never get my humidity up to 65% even with sponges I'm happy with 63 when the turkey hatched it went to 68 but I live where it is dry too. I add lots of water the last week the eggs are thirsty.

I have hatched hundreds of chicks in the last few years and my hatcher has a window in the front and I must say I have never seen an egg rock or move. Do I just not watch long enough? I usually just glance in to see who is pipping and who is hatching but never really a lot of egg movement, unless they are actually kicking out of course.
