Eggs set on 2/11! Who needs a hatch buddy?

I couldn't resist and candled a few last night! Out of the 4 from my birds I can see two are developing, the other 2 have slightly darker more porous shells. Out of the 12 Welsummers I candled 4 and all 4 were developing and our of 4 of the Marans I could only tell that 1 was. Those eggs are just too dark! I will candle all on day 7 (Friday) and hopefully see a little more. Right now the bottom part of the eggs just look a little darker than the top but it also looks like the air cells are reattaching nicely!
That is awesome! I hope they all make it. The only way I can tell anything abt the marans eggs is if I see dark in there, I cant see any veining in them!

So I recandled this morning, day 7, and 23 out of 29 eggs are developing! Some of the air cells still move around so I have those marked and candle with pointy end of egg down anyway as to not disrupt the air cell. How is your hatch coming along? Hope all is well!

I don't blame you I would do it that way to. I am paranoid that something is gonna go wrong. Just not as bad as I was last year. I candled again last night and there were definately 2 clears 4 quiters. So out of 30 eggs I have 24 in there still going!

Well, we had to go out of town for 24 hrs and I didn't turn the eggs for that time so I was all nervous coming home. But the incubator was holding steady with temp and humidity and I candled the eggs again and still have 14 that are developing. I can no longer see the embryo moving but they are much larger than last time I looked so they must be still growing. I set up the brooder, bought food and a heat lamp....hopefully that doesn't count as counting your chickens before they hatch. :)

I have had to remove 12 out of 29 eggs so far. Some that I thought were developing weren't, too scrambled from shipping and had 4 with blood rings along with the clear ones

. I knew to expect around a 50% hatch on the shipped eggs but it doesn't look like I'm going to come even close to that. I have 5 that I can see moving and the other 12 I am very hopeful will continue to grow and hatch, though a couple look to have stopped growing. Only on day 9, keeping my fingers crossed all 17 make it to lock down.

That is the way mine are looking! I am so ready to candle for day 14 tomorrow night. These 3 weeks takes forever! LOL! I got another LG yesterday. My hubby didn't want me to but I won LOL!!!!!! I can now do staggard hatches and not worry about the eggs that are hatching messing up the ones that aren't ready to hatch yet!!!!!

Hope your babies make it! Is your temp and humidity holding steady? I may have to take some more out. With those marans eggs it is very hard to see inside, all I can go by is whether they are dark. I couldn't see any veining.
