Eggs smelling and tasting of chemicals

Had a similar problem that was recitifed by filtering our water. Unbeknownst to me out water supplier had switched from using chlorine to chloramine which is more persistent due to the addition of ammonia! We now use a low drip rate charcoal filter and our eggs have never tasted better!
