Eggs starting to Pip!

I have 3 eggs that have pipped and was wondering what Zipping means? I am new at this. They are chirping which is pretty exciting.

CONGRATS on the pips !!!!

A zip is what happens after the chick pips the shell (could take up to 48 hrs after the pip) The chick turns in the shell cutting the shell so it can come out.

Mine have been hatching since last night and I have not opened bator either...congrats on yours and mine haven't taken long to come out after pipped through..couple to three hours..I got RIR..I have total of 16 eggs 5 have hatched so far and 2 more soon so right now I have 11 yet to hatch..All look good too..Noisy..my first time..I plan on posting pics as soon as then get in broody pen in couple days or so.

Ok I just had one hatch out still waiting on the other 2 who have pipped. I post some pics in a little while and actually video tape the hatching from my camera. How long does it take for the hatchling to break away from the cord? Hopefully i will more as the day goes on...

The Cord thing I believe was a little membrane that seems to be attached to it leg or tangle up with it on the way out..But, chic seems to be doing well.
