Hey there,
I have a first-time broody silkie sitting on some eggs (also my fist time hatching eggs). An EE chick hatched last night, and a little silkie hatched this morning. I carefully candled the remaining 4 eggs, but can’t tell if they were alive, since I am lacking in experience with hatching eggs. I was hoping some folks on here may be able to help? Thanks in advance!

#3- I’m sure this one is alive because I saw the chick moving inside when it was candled.

Hello. I know it’s been awhile since your post. I’ve got a similar story with a broody Silkie. Gave her 4 eggs from another flock to hatch. So 2 eggs were placed in her nest about 5 days before the other 2 (I’ve learned my lesson with that!) First two hatched. 2nd two not yet. She is not sitting on them except at night so we brought them in and made a makeshift incubator. I candled and they have a large air sac and I swear I saw movement. It’s so hard to tell!!
