Just wondering if anyone knows why eggs would stop being fertilized? I have a silkie mix rooster and two hens (one silkie, one bantam brahma) and for a couple months all the eggs were fertilized. I cracked the first few and saw the bullseye. Then I incubated 9 and all 9 hatched. For the last 2 -3 weeks none of the eggs we've gathered had a bullseye, so I'm assuming they aren't fertile.

How old is that roo? Sometimes, when it is very, very cold he won't be able to fertilize eggs. What's the temp there?

The rooster is young, probably about a year old. Temperatures were in the mid 70s for a few weeks only the last week has been much, much colder, overnight lows in the 20s.

Hmm... that shouldn't affect anything. How is the health of your birds? Have any brawls broken out? Any new additions?

No new additions, I gave all the hatched chicks to my family. I have a small flock of 6 the three mature chickens (silkie mix roo, silkie hen, and a bantam brahma hen) I have three other silkies of undetermined gender 😂 they are about 5 months old and have been with the flock for several months. Everyone seems healthy, no change in behavior. No fights that we've seen. The hens are still laying regularly.
