Hey BeardedChick! Just saw this thread. Congrats on the developing eggs!

I hope this is a successful hatch for you. What kind of chicks are they? (Forgive me if you have already said)

Good luck on your hatch!!! Hope they didn't sustain damage develomentaly and cand make it to little fluff balls!

I have a UPS package that has been in their hands since the 16th of this month... has been sitting probably 5 miles away in some storage box at the distrubution center due to weather since the 22nd. Was to arrive on the 19th.... Yeah, luckily my package isn't alive. It only had to go less than 1000 miles!

Buster is in a really low humidity environment - as am I. Plus I'm at high altitude which is naturally *much* drier. Basically high mountain desert... He's been messing w/ his humidity settings and had a really good hatch with high humidity (he said he ran his at 75% through the whole incubation period).

The air molecules at altitude are not as densely packed. So I may have proper 50% humidity, but I will naturally have less volume of water in my incubator...

I've been wondering about it because they say eggs produced in higher humidity environments are more porous and are able to lose more water. I have noticed that if I incubate with the humidity in the 35-45% range that my eggs seem pretty dry by day 18 (they lose more volume than they should).

So I'm trying higher humidity to see what happens... Maybe it won't work, maybe it will. I'm interested to see.

Does that make any sense a'tall?​

I can't wait to see what these chicks look like! We have and EE that we *think* has been crossed with a wellsummer. She doesn't lay yet so I can't guess by egg color. My daughter wants more chickens like her - so if yours is similar I will know what kind of cross to try.
