Eggs this am

This might be a dumb question but how do I know of the egg is fertile? As mentioned I new at this duck and egg thing

Went to the duck house this am and found and egg cracked/opened. Do ducks eat their own eggs? 98% sure nothing else could have gotten to it.

You have to look for the bulls eye. It can take a bit practice but here is a pic.

Eyes can get stepped on and the duck will eat them. I would collect them for a few weeks before seeing if she will even go broody. The first month or they can lay some odd eggs and I wouldn't try to hatch any of them.
