Eggs today!

Hi,

We have 5 chickens that are 5 months old and today, one cinnamon made a little nest in the woods and when I checked on her, there were 4 eggs in there. Is it normal for one chicken to lay 4 eggs in one day? This is the first day we've ever gotten egg and she's the only one with the red comb, wattles and cheeks. Thanks for your thoughts One egg was huge and three were normal sized. She is a cinnamon.

A hen can't lay that many in a day. Occasionally 2 can be laid but that's unusual. Either she's been laying for four days or more or there are other hens laying. Congratulations.

That makes sense. Maybe she laid one or two the past few days (those I found this morning) and then two today (the two I found after the first two were found). Thanks
