eggs

My peahen has been sitting on eggs for 2 weeks now. This morning I noticed one of the eggs was broke and still had yolk in it. My question is shouldnt the chick be starting to form now at 2 weeks in ? Would she have tossed the egg if she thought it was bad ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hens will roll out eggs that they know are bad. I think they can smell the egg going bad or that the eggs do not maintain heat because it is not growing.

Thank you. She’s lost 3 eggs so far so I wasn’t sure if she moved them or her yr old baby got up with her and did it
