Is it true that if you put salt on the hens butt they will stop pecking there eggs.

Egg eating can be a hard habit to break, and that is not one of the methods that I know if that would work.
Are you certain of which bird is doing the pecking (not necessarily the same bird who did the laying)? How long has this been going on?
